Some people have amazing sense of style. One such person is Audrey Hepburn, whose style has caused a stir for decades. I began to admire her when I got interested in clear classic style of the 50’s and 60’s. It has a kind of fresh briskness, femininity, and timelessness about it, which I hope to include in my own style as well. Interestingly, Audrey’s style stems from private to public as one integral continuum -Always stylish.

I got acquainted with Audrey's style by reading books and watching his films. On the cover of the book, "What a woman needs to know about the style" they have Audrey Hepburn wearing sunglasses as seen in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's -even though the book does not tell about her entirely. The idea of this book is to tell about the elegance that stems from within and anyone can learn. Some of the teachings of the book are nothing short of excellent, but some unfortunately too restrictive for a free spirit like me. I read a book with a smile on my face and got many good insights.

“Audrey Style” by Pamela Clarke Keogh deals with Audrey’s life stages. The photos are amazing and really inspire to dress. The greatest thing about Audrey is her deep rooted and everlasting positivism; she almost seems to have it all. And guess what? A friend of mine is like her, she has a perfect sense of style and character –it goes without saying, she is really charming.

Joillakin ihmisillä on aivan hämmästyttävän hyvä tyylitaju. Eräs tällaisista henkilöistä on Audrey Hepburn, jonka tyylistä on kohistu jo vuosikymmeniä. Itse aloin ihailla hänen tyyliään kiinnostuttuani selkeästä klassisesta muotokielestä ja 50- ja 60-luvun muodista. Siinä on sellaista raikasta reippautta, naisellisuutta ja ajattomuutta, jota toivon omaan tyyliini. Erikoista on, että näyttelijättären pukeutumistyyli vaikuttaa yhtenäiselta jatkumona privaatista työhön ja edustamiseen. Aina tyylikästä.

Audreyn tyyliin tutustuin lukemalla hänestä tehtyjä kirjoja ja katselemalla hänen elokuviaan. Kirjan "Mitä naisen tulee tietää tyylistä" kannessa Audrey Hepburn ihastuttaa aurinkolasit päässään elokuvassa Aamiainen Tiffanyllä, vaikkei kirja hänestä kerrokaan. Tekstipainotteisen teoksen ideana on kertoa sisältä kumpuavasta tyylikkyydestä, jonka jokainen voi oppia. Osa kirjan opeista on suorastaan mainioita, mutta osa liiankin rajoittavia tällä luonteella. Luin kirjan pilke silmäkulmassa, jolloin sain siitä monia hyviä oivalluksia.

Audrey Style -kirja käsittelee Hepburnin elämän eri vaiheita. Kirjan kuvat ovat upeita, niistä saa paljon virikkeitä pukeutumiseen. Ihanaa Audreyssä on hänen olemuksestaan huokuva positiivisuus. Sanoisinpa, että täydellinen pakkaus. Ja arvatkaa mitä, ystäväni on hänen näköisensä, hänellä on täydellinen tyylitaju ja hän on luonteeltaan todella hurmaava.
